Lejos de los circuitos tradicionales del sur, en los Andes Amazónicos del Norte convergen hermosos paisajes: valles fértiles, bosques húmedos y ríos profundos.
Los Chachapoyas o “hombres de las nubes” fueron en 1470 una de las últimas civilizaciones en caer bajo el gran poderío incaico y los caminos y senderos a recorrer son de los más espectaculares entre todo lo que el Perú tiene para el Mountain Bike.
En la ruta apreciaremos espectaculares monumentos pre-incas siendo el más importante e imponente la Fortaleza de Kuélap, construida en el año 500 d.c. en la cima de una montaña y conocida como el “Machu Picchu del norte”.
Para realizar este circuito es necesario ir en autobús (no hay servicio aéreo) desde Lima o Chiclayo hacia la ciudad de Chachapoyas (2,350 m.), y previo descanso iniciaremos el fantástico recorrido hacia el Valle del Utcubamba, Kuélap y Leymebamba.

Far from the southern tourist circuit and between the Andes and the Amazon Jungle we find the Chachapoyas Kingdom “people of the clouds”, one of the last civilizations to fall under the Empire of the Incas.
Still under study and not completely known, this is a great lost civilization who had leave behind great hidden monuments, some of them in the middle of the jungle.
Our trails takes us by this kingdom, located at the right side of the great Marañon river (father, as the legend tells, of the Amazonas River) surrounded by beautiful landscapes: deep valleys, cloud forests and old villages, having as the main attraction the Kuelap Fortress, a huge stone building known as "the Machu Picchu of the North".
