Canta,
the closest Andest to the capital.


If you go to Lima, and you think you don't have enough time to enjoy the Andes adventure, don't worry here's the solution.
Canta is 3 hours from Lima, a small Andean town very near to the main city and a perfect paradise for mountain biking. Here we can do different rides in many levels, for beginners, intermediates and experts. Hard climbs, the Andes Mountain Range, technical singletracks, downhills and any kind of trail waits for you. Better to be 2 or 3 days.
This place still preserves its natural beauty and the people still lives of agriculture, being very good known for its cheeses. Here you'll not only will enjoy the andean scenery but also its delicious cuisine.

ITINERARY: 2 DAYS / 1 NIGHT
D1 LIMA/CANTA MTB 60 Km
Departure at 06h00. Arrival to Canta at 9. Departure from Canta (2850m) to Lachaqui (3600m) to start the downhill ride by technical path to Arahuay (2600m) and dirt road to Quives (900m). Transfer a Canta. Hotel.
D2 CANTA/LIMA MTB 30 Km
Bike ride climbing by dirt road to Huaros village (3800m) and take a downhill singletrack to Canta (2850m). Transfer to Lima. Arrival at night.

IMPORTANT NOTE: In case of unexpected rains or weather events itineraries or daily program may have changes or delays.
MTB equipment:
Helmet and gloves.
MTB Backpack (camelback)
Summer clothes.
Winter clothes: windvest, long sleeve jerseys and leg and arm warmers, polartech.
Protective wear: elbow and shin guards

Personal equipment:
1 backpack for personal stuff for the day activities.
Sandals, gloves, trekking shoes, t-shirts, sunglasses, cap, jeans, short, polartech and jacket.
Hand or head lamp, sunblock and repelant.

Medicins: every passenger must bring their own regular medicins and tell us if he suffer some kind of allergy. Must bring a small kit of pills for headache, stomach and fever, etc.

Keep some money for tips, personal spends and beverages.
Tour includes:
* Transfers from/to station.
* Lodging, breakfasts, box lunch y meals on itinerary.
* Vehicle assistance.
* Guide and assistant(s)
* Bike rent (w/agree of returning parts in case of damage).

Tour NOT includes:
* Bagages, accidents and medical insurances.
* Beverages, personal spends, meals, tours and visits not specified on itinerary.
GENERAL INFO
Lodging
You will be lodged on double or triple rooms, with personal bath and warm water. Single rooms are availables if you ask with enough time or if the locations has for availability.
Weather: In winter the coast has temperatures between 12 to 16 C at the same time the central Andes has a little higher temperature, sunny days, but at night it could descend to 5 C
Health prevents:

Avoid drinking water from sources, drink water from sealed bottles.
