Cusco: XC inca trails

The cross country inca trails is a great mix of the best historical sites plus cultural experiences doing by bike, pedaling downhill and uphill over 4000 m! using some trails developed by local bikers, others still used by sheperds and some others ancient inca original trails with thousand years old.

One of the most important things about this destination is its fascinating historical legacy, the great views of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, that catches your senses fro the first day of your visit. Its Andean blue sky, warm climate, snowed summits and Andean mountain forest are the perfect scenery for our trails that uses old shepherds’ paths and some original Inca trails; all those full filled of this ancient energy.

ITINERARY: 7 DAYS / 6 NIGHTS
D1 CUSCO
Arrival to Cusco in the morning (3350m) and transfer to hotel. In the afternoon visit to Sacsayhuamán and city.
D2 CUSCO/MACHU PICCHU/CUSCO
Train from Cusco to Aguas Calientes. Tour Machu Picchu. Return to hotel.
D3 CUSCO/MARAS/URUBAMBA MTB 40 Km
Visit to Chinchero village (3750m) to start the first ride passing by Huaypo lagoon, then visit to Moray ruins and start the smooth DH to Maras village. From here the speed goes fast downhilling by the salt Mines and arriving to Urubamba (2850m). Lodging.
D4 URUBAMBA/OLLANTAYTAMBO/URUBAMBA MTB 50 Km
Ride to Ollantaytambo (2820m) nearby Urubamba river. Visit to Ollantaytambo ruins. Return to lodging.
D5 URUBAMBA/LARES PASS/CUSCO MTB 60 Km
Transfer to Machacancha (3300m) to start the climb to Lares pass (4270m). After arrive to the summit we start the downhill by an old inca trail stoping at Machacancha for continuing to calca and Urubamba. Return to lodging.
D6

URUBAMBA/PISAC/CUSCO MTB 60 Km
Departure back to Cusco but on the road we made a detour for climbing to the Potato Park located in the heights of Pisac at 3800m. Back on the road we stop at Picas for transfer to Cusco. Hotel.

D7 CUSCO
Transfer to the airport.

IMPORTANT NOTE: In case of unexpected rains or weather events itineraries or daily program may have changes or delays.
MTB equipment:
Helmet and gloves.
MTB Backpack (camelback)
Winter clothes: windvest, long sleeve jerseys and leg and arm warmers, polartech, winter gloves.
Summer clothes and raincoat.
Protective wear: elbow and shin guards

Personal equipment:
1 big travelers bag (in the assistance vehicle)
1 backpack for personal stuff for the day activities.
Sandals, gloves, trekking shoes, t-shirts, sunglasses, cap, jeans, short, polartech and jacket.
Hand or head lamp, sunblock.

Medicins: every passenger must bring their own regular medicins and tell us if he suffer some kind of allergy. Must bring a small kit of pills for headache, stomach and fever, etc.

Keep some money for tips, personal spends and beverages.
Tour includes:
* Transfers from/to station.
* Lodging, breakfasts, box lunch y meals on itinerary.
* Vehicle assistance.
* Guide and assistant(s)
* Bike rent (w/agree of returning parts in case of damage).

Tour NOT includes:
* Bagages, accidents and medical insurances.
* Transfer of own bikes.
* Beverages, personal spends, meals, tours and visits not specified on itinerary.
GENERAL INFO
Lodging
You will be lodged on double or triple rooms, with personal bath and warm water. Single rooms are availables if you ask with enough time or if the locations has for availability.
Weather: Cold and windy on heights over 4000m (5~10 C) warm in the valley (15~18 C) and colder at night (0 C).
Health prevents:
Avoid drinking water from sources, drink water from sealed bottles.
How to get there
By bus from/to Lima 19hrs travel time.
By plain from/to Lima 1hr flight time.
