Chanchamayo valley

The first habitants of this region were the Yaneshas y Asháninkas; the modern history began in 1,635 when franciscan misionary Fray Juan Jerónimo Jiménez came from Ocopa (Mantaro) and climb the heights to enter into the jungle for founding the village of San Buena Ventura de Quimiri, at 3 Kms. from the actual city of La Merced. After many wars and revolutions the spanish never can stablish their properties there, it was after revolution and in times of republic that the peruvian governement start to buid the road between Palca and Chanchamayo stablishing for the order a militar camp base with the name of San Ramon, now a city. After this they continue opening trails into the deep forest of Chanchamayo to communicate the yaneshas and asháninkas tribes and may colonize the valley. Having people interested on work in agriculture La Merced was found in 1869, 10 years after the great austrian-german adventure of Pozuzo foundation.

D1 LIMA/SAN RAMON MTB 90 Km

Departure from Lima. Downhill by road to San Ramon from Tarma heights (3200m) Arrival at 15h00. Hotel.
D2 SAN RAMON MTB 40 Km
08h00 Departure from Perené bridge to Santa Ana with impressive views of Chanchamayo valley. Return to San Ramon. Hotel.
D3 SAN RAMON/LIMA MTB 25 Km

short MTB trail to Tirol waterfalls. Departure to Lima in the afternoon. Arrival at night.

IMPORTANT NOTE: In case of unexpected rains or weather events itineraries or daily program may have changes or delays.
MTB equipment:
Helmet and gloves.
MTB Backpack (camelback)
Summer clothes and raincoat.
Protective wear: elbow and shin guards

Personal equipment:
1 big travelers bag (in the assistance vehicle)
1 backpack for personal stuff for the day activities.
Sandals, gloves, trekking shoes, t-shirts, sunglasses, cap, jeans, short, polartech and jacket.
Hand or head lamp, sunblock and repelant.

Medicins: every passenger must bring their own regular medicins and tell us if he suffer some kind of allergy. Must bring a small kit of pills for headache, stomach and fever, etc.

Keep some money for tips, personal spends and beverages.
Tour includes:
* Transfers from/to station.
* Lodging, breakfasts, box lunch y meals on itinerary.
* Vehicle assistance.
* Guide and assistant(s)
* Bike rent (w/agree of returning parts in case of damage).

Tour NOT includes:
* Bagages, accidents and medical insurances.
* Beverages, personal spends, meals, tours and visits not specified on itinerary.
GENERAL INFO
Lodging
You will be lodged on double or triple rooms, with personal bath and warm water. Single rooms are availables if you ask with enough time or if the locations has for availability.
Weather: During the year tempareture goes between 20ºC y 30ºC
Health prevents:
Avoid drinking water from sources, drink water from sealed bottles.
Vaccin agains yellow fever for jungle sites. Anti-allergies in case of insect bites.
How to get there
Private ground transfer from/to Lima 7hrs travel time.
